In Another Place

Last night, I held you so tight,
your tears heavy against my chest.

Your grasp so strong, felt as if you'd never let go,
it was a comfort, not just for you, but for me.

In your pain, you thought me the strong one,
until you felt my own tears, as they softly mixed with yours.

I, too, felt the loss, but in my heart I knew,
nothing could ever seperate thoughts that flew.

Together, yet apart, but knowing what lay inside,
in another place, in another lifetime, we both are sure to find.

My hand out stretched to you, as your fingers slip between mine,
the tenderness that will always be there, just waiting to renew.
