Bound by the Night

Did you hear me softly whispering,
as you slept beside me last night?

Could you feel the depth of my caresses,
as my fingers moved lightly along your body?

Were the kisses I placed, tenderly on your face,
something that comforted you, throughout the night?

Had you heared me in your dreams,
all the thoughts I shared, while you lay there sleeping?

Were you my dream, or was I your's,
as we spent the night with one another?

If I had awakened you, from that dream,
would I have awakened too?

Or, were we both awake, just living in another light,
sharing the dream together, bound by the night.
