Will You Remember

Can you feel my touch,
when you are sitting there,
as I imagine my fingers
running slowly through your hair.

Can you feel my breath,
against the base of your neck,
even though I sit near you
yet remain so far away.

Can you hear the beating of my heart
as it races, pounding louder
as our thoughts wander together, though our
conversation masks the things we cannot say.

Do you ever doubt my feelings
as I try to hide them from you
keep them locked far away,
to pull out some other time, some other day.

Do you know that they are just as strong,
rich with feeling, though hidden away,
to make the days something we can share
in the here and now, until one day finally comes.

Do you know me in the night
As my soul reaches out for yours
and our feelings can come alive, undaunted,
unhidden, sharing the stillness of the night.

Will you remember, all these feelings
that we let pass by us from day to day
knowing they will come to us both
when we are ready to share, in another life ...
